Global education resources for the teacher are extremely important. Teachers need to incorporate opportunities for students to learn about cultures, geography, history, current events and current issues from every place in the world. Exposure to people, thoughts, places and issues that are different from their own gives students the chance to see the world from a different perspective.

Meet Pedro Trivella!
Mr. Trivella is truly inspirational! His infectious personality and passion for students is a combination perfect for student success. Stories are best when told by the person walking the journey. Here is Mr. Trivella's story in his own words.
Mr. Trivella's commitment to bringing voice and action for his students and community is admirable. Mr. Trivella is a role model for teachers, students and the community.
He first moved to the U.S from his home country of Venezuela 30 years ago. He has been a proud member of the Asbury Park community since 2011. Embracing the unique characteristics that our community offers is what drives his mission of “Love without Borders”.
As an educator of the Asbury Park School District, Pedro has had the privilege of building lifelong relationships with students and families from a wide range of ethnic and
multicultural backgrounds.
Additionally, recognizing the challenging obstacles that our students and families face on a daily basis lent itself to the creation of the first Multicultural Committee in Asbury Park.
The BASTA (BASTA means “enough” in Spanish) Committee empowers culturally and ethnically diverse students, parents, and staff members with a voice to successfully bring attention to the invaluable gifts that they bring to their Asbury Park community.
Pedro has been honored to present his “Love without Borders” mission at the 2017 International Model School Conference. He had the pleasure to travelling to Nashville with Dr. Repollet (the current New Jersey Commissioner of Education) which gave him the opportunity to share the extraordinary way that the Asbury Park community leads by example while embracing and celebrating diversity with over 2,000 educators from over the country.
Pedro had his BASTA article published in the 2019 View Points Spring edition by the New Jersey Principal and Supervisor Association. This has significantly shed light on Pedro's Inter-cultural vision as well.
Pedro's personal and professional missions are strongly aligned. As an educator of the Asbury Park District and as a local member of his beloved community, Pedro strives to empower his students, parents, and neighbors by celebrating and fostering their unique gifts, talents, and contributions.
Becoming a Fulbright Teachers of Global Classrooms alumni in 2019 has further propelled his advocacy for Global education.
