About Me

 Through the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program I have learned to bring an global perspective to my lessons. The Fulbright TGC program introduced me to a variety of new education and tools as well as techniques for  global collaboration. My desire is to help other educators, parents and children embrace global competencies so that we as a humanity are openly and willingly trying to improve our acceptance of each other, improve our understanding of the challenges we face as individuals and as a whole, and to improve protection of our physical world.

I currently teach Engineering Technology, Design Technology and Robotics at West Wilkes High School in Millers Creek, North Carolina, 28651 USA.

I am Nationally Board Certified. I have a Masters of Arts in Instructional Technology. I have a Bachelor of Science in Technology Education  with concentrations in Electronics Engineering, Metals Manufacturing, Drafting, and Computer Education. I have been an educator since 1996, prior to this I worked in industry and electronics engineeri

My life motto is "Experientia Docet" which is Latin for "Experience Teaches." I live in the Appalachian Mountains. I love hiking and exploring. I am an avid flower gardener.  I am fascinated by ancient civilizations, especially the Anasazi. I love our national park system.   I love photography. I love to read especially non-fiction and science fiction.   I adore animals especially horses and dogs.   I am avid about Engineering and STEM with a definite desire to encourage girls to explore these fields.   I am married,  the mother of three talented daughters and son-in-laws, the grandmother of five children and a grand dog.
